Special projects at Langfang Children’s Village
There are several special projects at the orphanage. During the past 10 years the lives of thousands of orphans have been changed by improving their health, living conditions, and the quality of their daily care. The addition of new facilities and staff has opened more children’s homes. Further expansion is planned also in Qinghai, Shaanxi and Guangdong.
Sponsor a Children’s Home
At Langfang Children’s Village it takes about $2,500 per month for each home to stay operational and in good repair. For $250 per month a business, group or individual can partner with us and underwrite this necessary overhead expense of the children’s homes. There are currently 6 children’s homes; only 2 have sponsors.
Surgical expenses

Born with spina bifida and scoliosis, David, the eldest member of Luke’s House, will soon turn 7. He came from the Baoding orphanage in the spring of 2004. When David came to Langfang Children’s Village, immediately ways were sought to arrange surgery for him. In June 2004, David and another child from Luke’s House received surgery, which was donated by the surgeon and room and medicine by the Shanghai United Hospital. However, the cost of the operating room was not covered. $1,700 was provided through designated gifts to settle the bill. The average cost of surgery is about $350 per child. Gifts designated to surgical expenses are always welcome. |
