Langfang Children’s Village
Langfang Children’s Village is located in the middle of the industrial belt between two of China’s most populous cities, Beijing and Tianjin.
China is geographically larger than the United States, yet orphans from provinces all over China find their way to Langfang. Some of these children have relatively minor problems such as cleft lips and palates. Others have more serious problems like heart defects and cerebral palsy. But whether their problems are small or large, we assist in providing resources so that Langfang’s doctors and staff will be able to do all they can to help these precious children.
A safe haven
Like an oasis in the desert, Langfang Children’s Village has become a safe haven for China’s special needs orphaned children. Like the Good Samaritan in the Bible parable, we reach out to those of our neighbors who are most in need of a helping hand. Although there are about 124 orphans at the Langfang Children’s Village at any given time, we also are able to provide help for particular orphans from other areas and 10 different orphanages in China.
Threeweekold Thomas was found abandoned at the front gate at 3:00 a.m. Another child was found by local police. He had been abandoned in the street and was brought to Langfang. This is an encouraging development because the police are increasingly choosing to bring the abandoned children they find to Langfang, instead of the staterun orphanages, because they have seen the tremendous care the children receive here.
A unique village
| There are 5 children’s homes in Langfang Children’s Villageclockwise from right, House of Love, House of Peace, Samaritan’s House, House of Joy, and Luke’s House (below). There is also a preschool which serves the children. Homes in the village are designed to model a family environment. | ![]() |

Each house has houseparents, childcare workers, and its own yard in which to play. Medical care is provided in an onsite clinic staffed with several fulltime doctors and nurses. All children have access to a central park area for outdoor play and community events.
Through this village concept, it has been discovered that the children are easily transitioned into an adoptive family. In 2007, 14 children were adopted by loving families in the USA, Europe and China.
